As I was shuffling the cards today, I couldn't help but think a bit about my friend, Kristin, whose birthday it is today!  Appropriately enough, I drew the Queen of Cups.  Happy Birthday, dear friend!!

The Queen of Cups is the most intuitive card, ruling the realm of emotions.  The thoughts of the Queen originate from the unconscious, from within the depths of her soul.  The Queen of Cups is nurturing, caring, compassionate and sensitive.  She is very in tune with her emotions and connects with others on an emotional level very easily.  Fair and honest, she has a big, warm heart, and is often a healer, counsellor, or psychic.  She can sometimes seem to know what is wrong even before you tell her.

This card can either indicate a person in your life, or a part of yourself.  This card can indicate that you need to trust your intuition and listen to your inner voice.  This is a "follow your heart" card.  Trust the indications and feelings you are getting from your outside environment.  A little bit of logic might be necessary, but not too much.  Trust your heart, too.

This card can also suggest that you need to empathise with others and show more genuine compassion.  Sometimes your friends just need a listening ear, not logical advice.  Often, just a hug will do.

The Queen of Cups also symbolises a person who uses her imagination and who is very creative or artistic.  She is often involved in creative or literary endeavors and enjoys art, music, literature and all that is beautiful in this world.
